Paul is an experienced writer for film and television. One of the UK's leading writers of children's TV, he is the co-creator of Almost Never, 4 O'Clock Club, Dani's House and Dani's Castle for CBBC.

He has also written extensively for adults - including Sky One's Stella, and EastEnders. He is currently working as lead writer for several tentpole CBBC projects.

Previously, he has written sitcom pilots starring the likes of Dylan Moran, Maxine Peake, Mark Heap, Marc Wootton and Ingrid Oliver.

He has been nominated for a BAFTA three times, including for Best Writer at the 2017 BAFTA Children's Awards - and won a Sony Radio Academy Award for his work on the Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show. In 2015, his Christmas special for the 4 O'Clock Club won Best Children's Fiction at the Royal Television Society Awards.

In a previous life, writing under the name Mr Biffo, Paul was one of the UK's top video games journalists, editing the legendary teletext video games magazine Digitiser, and writing a monthly column in Edge magazine. He is a regular columnist in Retro Gamer.

In 2017 he successfully crowdfunded Mr Biffo's Found Footage, a surreal and anarchic sci-fi comedy series for YouTube, which culminates in an ambitious 20-minute short film, which he wrote and directed.

In 2018 he ran another successful Kickstarter, raising almost £45,000 to produce another online series, Digitiser The Show - an ambitious six-part comedy panel show focusing on the history of video games. It marked his first on-screen appearance as a presenter. He continues to present twice-weekly videos on the channel.
